EN 148-1 screw-in gas mask filters
Spasciani filters with the EN 148-1 screw thread fit the TR 2002 full face mask (and the TR 82 and the ST 85 half mask). There are 23 of them: P3 particle filters, class 2 gas filters, and combined filters that do both.

In large type the short code people use (ABEK2 P3); below it the full Spasciani name (203 A2B2E2K2P3). They are the same thing: the leading number is the model, which grows with the filter's height.

How to choose
- Start from the substance: its safety data sheet (SDS) says which protection you need. The filter's letters must cover all of it.
- The same protection is written two ways: short, with the class once (ABEK2 P3), or in full, with the class after each letter (A2B2E2K2P3). ABEK2P3, ABEK2 P3 and A2B2E2K2P3 are the same filter.
- If the air also carries dust, mist or fumes (spray painting, crop spraying, welding) you need a combined filter, with P3 in the code.
- AX is for organic compounds boiling below 65 °C: the code says so, and an A filter is not a substitute.
- Change a gas filter when you smell or taste the substance; a particle filter when breathing gets hard. For continuous use the employer sets the change interval in advance.
- A sealed filter has its expiry date printed on the casing. Once opened, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
